We depend on our customers to help determine whether the leak is in the pipes or the interior of the pool, to minimize our charges. If you are not interested in doing the tests, we can go over the whole pool.
POOL PUMP ON OR OFF - LEAK TEST:Are you losing more water with the pool pump off or on? Run the pool pump for say 8, 12 or 24 hours and compare for the same period of time with the pump off. If you lose more water running the pool pump, that typically means the leak is in the return or Polaris lines. If you lose more water with the pool pump off that generally means the leak is in a suction line - the skimmer or main drain line. If you lose at the same rate it is generally in the interior of the pool - light leak, hole in liner or crack in gunite pool.
ANOTHER LEAK TEST YOU CAN DO:Plug the pool lines (be sure to unplug your pool pumps) or just run off the main (if you have one) by shutting off the skimmer valve(s) at the front of pump. Now lets see where your water level goes over the next several days.
You don't owe us anything if we can’t find the problem.
Flat fees quoted ahead of time – No hourly billing. We Only do pool leaks - no other pool services. We perform repairs underwater, but we don't do underground pipe repairs. Your pool company can do the repair, you can do the repair or we can recommend a pool company.
( see below for referrals)
80-90% of the time you have a pipe leak or a leak in the interior of the pool, not both. To minimize our charges we perform only one service. Pools that have been leaking for several months or in some cases years can have multiple leak problems and might require complete testing.
At Pool Pro we patch vinyl liner holes and tears as well as repair minor cracks in gunite pools underwater. We Don't repair underground pool pipe leaks – We guarantee to find them though, or we don’t charge you if we can't. We usually locate the leak within 1 to 2 ft & mark the spot on the ground. We then refer you back to your own company for the repair, you can do the repair yourself or you can use one of the service companies below:
